Bullganger Full Time JOB TITLE: Bullganger BUSINESS UNIT: Graywolf Integrated Construction Company EMPLOYEE TYPE: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Foreman OVERVIEW Set-up and use oxy-fuel or plasma burning equipment to cut or trim plate and structural steel. Use oxygen/acetylene torch for cutting metals or to gouge. Operated electric and pneumatic power tools such as grinders, wire brushes, and chipping guns. Perform basic and preventative maintenance functions on power equipment. Use grinders and other hand or power tools required to grind, bevel, or fit metals together, and remove slag. Use of hand tools such as shovels, brooms, scrapers, and brushes, files, etc. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures. Unload fabricated steel products and tools from trucks. ENVIRONMENT Construction workers perform physically demanding work including lifting and carrying heavy objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling in awkward positions. Some work at great heights of up to 150', or outdoors in all weather conditions. Some jobs expose workers to harmful materials or chemicals, fumes, odors, loud noise or dangerous machinery. Some workers may be exposed to lead based paint, asbestos, or other hazardous substances during their work especially when working in confined spaces. To avoid injury, workers in these jobs wear safety clothing/personal protective equipment such as gloves, hard hats, protective chemical suits, and devices to protect their eyes, respiratory system and hearing. While working in underground construction, construction workers must be especially alert to safely follow procedures and must deal with a variety of hazards. WORK SCHEDULE Varies by location. Must have open availability any time, any day of the week. Length of employment is limited to job assignment and/or project duration. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Work safely around the hazards associated with the construction field. Use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools and in a safe manner. Construction Math - Demonstrates a level of competency in construction math as required in trade practice, including fractions, decimals, geometry, use of formulae, and trigonometry. Blueprint Reading - Correctly reads and understands plans, isometrics, arrangement drawings, details, specifications, erection manuals and/or blue prints and makes competent decisions based on measurable criteria. Secure components together applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques. Bolt, clamp and tack weld parts to secure in position for welding. Prepare material for welding by cutting or grinding using pipe cutters, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and/or grinder. Set material in stands, racks , hoists etc. for welding Set up equipment and weld parts using arc, gas shielded arc, gas shielded arc, or gas welding equipment. Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy. Follow oral and written directions. Work within company policies (including Safety and Human Resources policies), client policy and OSHA safety requirements. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed. QUALIFICATIONS Three (3) years minimum heavy industrial field experience as a Millwright as well as experience as an Ironworker Ability to identify all techniques of both a millwright and ironworker Completion of pre-hire and post-hire substance abuse testing as required by company and/or client. Completion of Safety related certifications such as OSHA 10 or Safety council programs as required by company and/or client. Ability to work with others to achieve job goals. Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions as required by client and/or facility policy. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Stand or walk for long periods of time. Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects. Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally lifting items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance. Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects. Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Acceptable eyesight - naturally or with correction. Eye-hand coordination. Good physical fitness. Good sense of balance. Work at great heights is required.
